Karim Dridi was born in 1961. Karin directed seven shorts, before completing his first feature, "Pigalle", which premeired at Venice in 1994. His subsequent film, "Bye-Bye" (1995), was chosen for Un Certain Regard at Cannes, "Hors Jeu" (1998) at Locarno and "Cuba Feliz" (1999), his fourth film, appeared in the Director's Fortnight in Cannes (2000). He directed also "Fureur" (2003), "Khamsa" (2008), "Le dernier vol" (2009) and "Chouf" (2016).
In addition, he has made a number of documentaries for Arte, including "Citizen Ken Loach (1997) and "An Impression Of South Africa" (1996).

Jego pełnometrażowy debiut reżyserski "Pigalle" brał udział w festiwalu filmowym w Wenecji w 1994 roku. Jego kolejne filmy fabularne były prezentowane na wielu festiwalach na całym świecie.
