Beta Film GmbH
Founded in 1959, Beta Film GmbH is one of the world's leading international distributors of TV license rights with customers in over 165 countries. Beta Film later expanded its radius of activity by founding Beta Cinema, which distributes theatrical films. Beta Film has been part of Jan Mojto's company group since 2004.

Over the years, Beta has built up a global network of contacts, from the U.S. and Latin America to Asia and Europe. Its expertise enables its employees to respond flexibly to the cultural idiosyncrasies and national customs of every country. Beta also works with partners from all areas of the media industry, from public and private broadcasters to special interest channels, theatrical and video distributors and organizers of major film festivals. The company's aim is to offer its customers a comprehensive range of high-quality productions.

Beta's one-of-a-kind program catalogue comprises over 15,000 hours or 4,000 titles in every available format and genre - from exciting action series, stirring TV movies and attention-getting miniseries to internationally acclaimed feature films, engrossing documentaries and unforgettable classics. The catalogue is unique not only on account of its vast assortment of formats and genres, but also because the programs come from many different countries: Beta distributes top U.S. productions, international TV and theatrical hits, and top-of-the-line European and German programs.

Beta Cinema
Beta Cinema is the theatrical division of Beta Film. Launched in 2001, Beta Cinema has established itself as a "boutique operation" for independent feature films with strong theatrical potential. Beta Cinema's philosophy is to keep its selective acquisition policy of 10 to 15 titles per year in order to fully develop the theatrical potential of each title according to its individual character.

Beta Cinema's portfolio includes outstanding productions like JOHN RABE, which won four German Film Awards 2009, Cannes 2008 Jury Prize-winning IL DIVO, Academy Award 2008-winning THE COUNTERFEITERS, Academy Award 2008 nominated MONGOL, Academy Award 2007-winning THE LIVES OF OTHERS and the Academy Award 2005-nominated DOWNFALL.

Beta Cinema will continue to pick the most promising German films as well as to offer its service and expertise to other European producers looking for individual handling of their productions.

Beta Cinema's strength lies in its focus on a carefully selected line-up and development of individual sales strategies with the perfect mix of marketing and festival platforms. Beta Cinema is the alterative address for established and up-and-coming independent producers and directors looking for individual international handling of their projects.
