Made up of fragments that echo and overlap each other in spatiotemporal games, the film renders an account of the situation of migrating people in Calais, from 2007 to 2010. And thereby, of the policies implemented by modern police states that bypass the law and create grey areas, blurred spaces between exception and rule. A conceptual cutting, a "division of the sensitive" is revealed: a person treated like a criminal is "stripped off", deprived of the most basic rights pertaining to a subject of law, reduced to the status of a "mere body", or of "bare life". Major bio-policy.
