In Yakoma, the capital of Batanga, an imaginary country, successful entrepreneur Grégory Moungo is found dead in a luxurious flat, with no sign of a struggle. Was it an accident? His meteoric rise and growing fortune would suggest otherwise. And there is no shortage of suspects: Eva, the sulphurous mistress who knows more than she lets on; Christine, the scorned wife; or Xavier, the discreet partner with whom he shared his secrets? The investigation into Gregory's death will open a rift in the upper echelons of Batangas politics.
