A beach reminds us of Fati's recent past. She arrived in Italy by sea, without papers, pregnant for the fifth time. After several months in Italy in a migrant camp and wanting to be reunited with her children, this young Ghanaian mother decided to return home without her husband. No one around her understands her choice after having overcome all these ordeals, and considers her a failure: "You had your chance and you wasted it", they tell her. But Fati wants to provide for her family, even though she still has to release three of her children from the custody of her in-laws. Ghanaian director Fatimah Dadzie offers through her film a change of perspective.
