Humour and irony are used here to broach the now classic theme of the difficulties of children of North African immigrants in France, positioned between two cultures. Walid lives in Paris, has a French girlfriend and observes Ramadan. When his sister goes to live with a Frenchman, Walid is depressed. What will he tell his parents? It's not what Muslims do! To let off steam, he goes to the gym where he confides in his friend Fred.
