The book contains a fortuitous mixture of selected photographs taken by Herman Bertiau during his many visits to the Island and reproductions of old postcards, nineteenth-century printed documents and paintings by Philippe Deltour, an artist who has written the delightful captions for the photos and his own illustrations.
