Jean Price-Mars was born in Grande-Rivière du Nord (Haiti) on October 15, 1876 and died in Pétionville (Haiti) on March 1, 1969. At the same time doctor, ethnographer, diplomat, statesman, educator and writer, he is considered the main Haitian thinker of the twentieth century.
