Born in France in 1973.
Frédérique Cifuentes is an independent documentary filmmaker. She also works as a freelance photojournalist and project manager. She lives between London and Paris where she divides her time between working on assignments for commercial clients and personal projects.
She holds a masters degree in Anthropology from the university of Paris-X Nanterre and a Master Degree in photojournalism from the London College of Printing. She started her work in Sudan in 2002 and has since produced several photo-stories on the subject of Sudanese society, published and exhibited worldwide.
It was through photography that she came to know Gadalla Gubara and in this way became a filmmaker - in the African style - and directed and produced her first documentary film, "Cinema In Sudan" in 2008.
