A fourteen-year-old boy, without roots or home, is in love from afar with a girl who lives in a wealthy district. One morning, he comes to offer his services to the girl's parents. There seems to be a ray of hope. But, that evening, he receives a negative response. What is Kiarostami's young protagonist left with? An ‘idée fixe': the girl's face, which he felt was his after a single exchange of glances.
