Le Black Film Center des Presses Universitaires d'Indiana, en collaboration avec les Archives de l'université d'Indiana (Bloomington), publie chaque semestre Black Camera "An International Film Journal", revue universitaire internationale spécialisée dans l'analyse et la documentation de l'expérience cinématographique dans le monde noir. Black Camera est une publication semestrielle et la seule publication universitaire de ce genre aux États-Unis.

Le périodique présente des essais et des entretiens autour de problématiques socio-politiques dans le cinéma, en s'intéressant particulièrement aux mouvements historiques et économiques qui influent sur la réception, la distribution et la production des films au niveau local, régional, international et les différentes milieu sociaux.

À chaque numéro, Black Camera consacre une trentaine de ses pages à la revue Africultures (traductions intitulées "the Africultures dossier").

Le volume 3, n°2 de Black Camera vient juste de sortir (scan du sommaire en lien).

Il présente une nouvelle section intitulée "Close-Up", qui étudie une problématique particulière dans un film, sous plusieurs angles d'approche. Le premier "Close-Up" est consacré à Nothing But a Man (1964) de Robert Young.
