Tense drama set in the underworld of Rome's Somali immigrants.
The award-winning Italian shorts director Claudio Noce turns in a stylish drama in'Good Morning Aman', unusually set among Rome's Somali community. Newcomer Said Sabrie plays the teenage Aman, whose aimless life and dead-end job cleaning cars is compounded by his best friend's move to London. One sleepless night, he meets the reclusive, mysterious Teodoro, and quickly becomes embroiled in his life, unravelling the ex-boxer's secrets one by one. Sabrie's strong, understated performance, combined with cinematographer Michele D'Attanasio's documentary-style, handheld camera weaving its way through Rome's underbelly - and a tense, taut screenplay - makes for a highly original debut.
